India's women's cricket team completed a resounding 270-run victory over England in the first women's Test at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, marking a historic triumph.

Chasing a record target of 457, England were bowled out for 186 shortly before lunch on the final day. Spinner Sneh Rana claimed 4-42, removing Amy Jones for 54 and bowling Sophie Ecclestone for 50 to seal the win.

Deepti Sharma supported with wickets of Issy Wong and Lauren Bell. The victory erased memories of India's T20 World Cup group-stage exit at the same venue, while England struggled after their T20 World Cup final loss.

Kranti Gaud (5-37 in first innings) and Yastika Bhatia (113 runs) were standout performers. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised the top order, while England coach Charlotte Edwards admitted India were exceptional.

England have now not won a home women's Test since 2005. The match attracted a record crowd of 37,846 over four days.
