According to Podrobno.uz, solar energy continues to strengthen its position in the global energy mix. In 2025, it accounted for 8.5% of all electricity generated worldwide – a historic high.

The Statistical Review of World Energy report shows that solar's share increased by two percentage points in just one year, while generation volume surged by 30%. The Asia-Pacific region remains the main growth driver, contributing over 60% of global solar generation.

China increased its capacity by 35.5% in a year, solidifying its leadership with a 50.3% global market share. India also showed rapid development: its solar capacity grew by 37.6% and has increased more than 37-fold compared to 2015.

Europe's total installed solar capacity reached 432.5 GW. Germany remains the largest market with 106.27 GW (+16.5%), followed by Spain (47.2 GW, +23.7%) and Italy (41.18 GW, +16.2%).

In the Americas, combined solar capacity exceeded 300 GW. The US increased its capacity by 19.2%, capturing 8.8% of the global market. Brazil became the growth champion among the top ten countries: from just 0.05 GW in 2015 to 64.69 GW in 2025.
