The US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it intercepted an attempted surprise missile attack from Iran. According to CENTCOM, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched multiple ballistic missiles targeting US forces in the Middle East.

All missiles were successfully intercepted, and US forces remain at a high state of readiness. The specific location of the launch was not disclosed. This year, US bases in Gulf states and Jordan have faced similar Iranian missile and drone attacks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US President Donald Trump behind closed doors at the Oval Office. The 90-minute meeting was described as 'positive and productive' by the White House.

In a social media video, Netanyahu called it 'one of the best conversations I've ever had with the president of the United States,' emphasizing the shared goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. The meeting comes ahead of Israeli elections scheduled for October 27.

Reuters cited unnamed sources suggesting Netanyahu sought Trump's support for his reelection campaign. The meeting coincided with Netanyahu's visit to Washington for Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral.
