Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34 after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep. The mixed martial arts (MMA) organization announced the news on its official website late Monday.

According to the UFC statement, the Brazilian athlete was found unresponsive on the morning of Monday, August 3rd. Despite efforts by the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Nascimento, who lived in São Paulo throughout his life, leaves behind a wife and two children. His last fight in the flyweight division took place in June, where he lost to Mitch Raposo via split decision.

The fighter represented Chute Boxe team in Brazil, holding a UFC record of four wins and two losses, with an overall MMA record of 22 wins and seven defeats.

In a statement, Chute Boxe said: "We have lost a warrior, friend, dedicated competitor and extraordinary human being. Allan inspired on and off the mats with his determination, humility, respect and fighting spirit. Your presence will be missed immeasurably, rest in peace Allan, your name, your story and your legacy will live forever through our star."
