The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have partially closed their airspace following a series of explosions in major cities across the region. Preliminary reports indicate that the targets of the massive attack were facilities associated with U.S. military presence.
According to media sources, explosions occurred in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, as well as in Bahrain and Qatar.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump officially confirmed the start of a large-scale military operation against Iran, conducted jointly with Israel. He stated that the strikes aim to eliminate an "immediate threat" and prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
In an emergency address, Trump demanded that Iranian security forces immediately lay down their arms and threatened "inevitable death," emphasizing that this is the "only chance for the Iranian people to overthrow the regime."
Key facilities in Tehran and other regions, including buildings of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Intelligence, the residence of Ali Khamenei, and the Atomic Energy Organization, were hit by massive air and sea strikes. The operation targets the destruction of Iran's missile industry and naval forces. According to Israeli sources, it will last four days.
Amid reports of U.S. Tomahawk missiles flying over Iraqi territory, the airspace of Iran and Israel was completely closed. An air raid alert was also recorded over Israel, with preliminary reports indicating that Iran launched missiles.
Due to the temporary closure of Iranian and Israeli airspace, several international flights from and to Uzbekistan were unable to continue their journeys and returned to their departure airports.
