Lamine Yamal scored his first career hat-trick to lead Barcelona to a 4-1 victory over Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday. The win extended Barcelona's lead to four points over Real Madrid at the top of the standings.
Barcelona now have 64 points, while second-placed Real Madrid are on 60 points ahead of their match against Getafe. Villarreal remain third with 51 points.
Yamal opened the scoring in the 28th minute after a pass from Fermin Lopez. He doubled the lead nine minutes later with a solo run and finish. Pape Gueye pulled one back for Villarreal in the 49th minute, but missed chances cost the visitors as Yamal completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute. Robert Lewandowski added a fourth goal in stoppage time.
Yamal expressed delight with the win for both himself and the team.
