The US regime is not seeking close cooperation with China in the development of artificial intelligence in order to avoid disclosing classified data. This was stated by US President Donald Trump at an AI conference in Washington.

The American leader emphasized that the US is leading in this field by a wide margin, and the main competition is unfolding between Washington and Beijing. According to Trump, creating joint ventures with China would lead to the transfer of secret technologies that the Chinese side seeks to access.

The US president said he briefly raised this topic during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to the US on September 23–25, but the American side does not plan to take steps toward joint work. Trump also noted that he prefers to use the term "superintelligence", adding that there will be only one winner in this technological race. As part of his speech, the head of state also presented a new US government services portal.
