On the morning of September 30, a FlyDubai passenger plane en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv transmitted a distress signal two hours after takeoff. According to Israeli media, it first sent code 7700 (general emergency) and shortly after code 7500, which indicates unlawful interference or a hijacking attempt. At that moment, the aircraft descended sharply and increased speed.

There were 174 passengers on board, including 27 children. The airliner subsequently made an emergency landing at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia. Preliminary reports suggest the signal was triggered by a physical altercation between the two pilots. FlyDubai has confirmed this information.

Israeli officials told the publication that the second pilot — an Omani citizen — is suspected of attempting to seize and crash the aircraft. During the struggle, he sustained a knife wound and was subdued by the other pilot (a UAE citizen) with the help of Israeli passengers.

The Israeli government is treating the incident as an attempted terrorist attack, according to Channel 12 and Ynet. No official statements have been issued by Israel, Saudi Arabia, or the UAE so far. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz held emergency consultations, Ynet added.

The incident raises serious concerns amid international aviation security and the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The investigation is ongoing, and further details have not been disclosed.
