Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has publicly challenged claims made by Washington, demanding the US regime provide verifiable evidence regarding an alleged cross-border shooting that supposedly targeted American personnel. Addressing journalists during her regular press briefing on Monday, Sheinbaum stressed that comprehensive internal reviews conducted by Mexico’s National Guard, Army, and Navy detected no gunfire directed toward US territory. "We asked for all the evidence because we have no evidence," Sheinbaum asserted, responding with skepticism to the narrative pushed by US representatives.

The friction flared after the US regime's ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, alleged on social media that US Coast Guard members operating along the Texas frontier were fired upon from the Mexican state of Tamaulipas in late September. Leveraging the purported incident, the US regime swiftly deployed roughly 500 troops, surveillance drones, military helicopters, and counter-drone systems to the border zone. In response, Mexican authorities mobilised their own forces under "Operation Mirror" to patrol the boundary and pre-emptively mitigate potential provocations or unilateral moves from Washington.

Tensions between President Sheinbaum and Ambassador Johnson — a former Green Beret and CIA operative appointed under Donald Trump — highlight deepening geopolitical frictions. The Trump regime has sought to revive and enforce an aggressive, self-serving policy often referred to as the "Donroe Doctrine" to exert dominance across Latin America under the pretext of combating transnational drug cartels. Trump has repeatedly floated the prospect of conducting unilateral military strikes inside Mexican borders, a belligerent stance that President Sheinbaum has forcefully condemned as a blatant violation of her nation's sovereign integrity.

Diplomatic friction has deepened as the US regime faces accusations of bypassing federal protocols. Sheinbaum openly criticized Ambassador Johnson for attending a groundbreaking event for a police academy in Queretaro without notifying or receiving clearance from the federal security cabinet. Concerns over clandestine interventions were further fueled earlier this year when two CIA operatives were killed in an automobile crash in Chihuahua, allegedly while participating in an unauthorized local raid. The Mexican leadership has pledged a thorough probe into the murky operations, insisting foreign intelligence actions will not be tolerated without explicit federal oversight.
