Escalating brutality across the occupied West Bank has resulted in the killing of at least one Palestinian and severe injuries to several others, as forces of the Israeli regime and extremist settlers launched a series of assaults. The incidents reflect deepening instability and heightened tension across the occupied territories, characterized by widespread military incursions and systematic suppression.
Near Bani Naim, east of Hebron, troops of the Israeli regime opened heavy fire on a private vehicle carrying three Palestinians. While the regime’s military claimed that the vehicle had allegedly attempted a car-ramming attack against a military convoy, Palestinian officials reported that the unprovoked gunfire left 38-year-old Hossam Alaa al-Din Abdul Jabbar Walad Ali dead, with two other occupants critically wounded. The victim's body was subsequently confiscated and withheld by the regime's forces, a recurring punitive practice.
In another violent encounter near Ramallah, in the village of Ramun, the Israeli regime dispatched military units under the pretext of investigating an allegedly torched vehicle. Palestinian health authorities confirmed that a local man, Ahmad Mazen Kahla, was critically injured by live ammunition fired by the regime’s forces. Military statements cryptically noted that one Palestinian had been "neutralised by an Israeli civilian," providing no further substantiation or accountability.
Simultaneously, illegal Israeli settlers carried out violent rampages against Palestinian residents in the Imriha area, southwest of Jenin. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, emergency teams evacuated three severely assaulted victims to nearby medical facilities, including an elderly man who was subjected to beatings and pepper spray, and another individual who suffered fractures.
Documentation provided by the Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission highlights that over 14,740 attacks by the Israeli regime and its settlers have occurred in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 2023, claiming at least 66 lives. The regime's aggressive incursions have also devastated the local environment and livelihood, destroying or uprooting over 147,000 trees, including more than 100,000 vital olive trees.
