The head of the UK’s MI5 domestic security service, Ken McCallum, asserted on Tuesday that Iranian authorities are expanding the scope of hybrid attacks coordinated within the UK and internationally. In an annual threat assessment address, McCallum claimed that a major shift this year involves ambitions to target harder assets, including military installations.

The remarks follow statements from the British regime's Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who alleged that a suspected plot at the Fairford air base—which hosts US long-range bombers—was "almost certainly" coordinated in Tehran. The US military reportedly withdrew about a dozen bombers from the southern UK base last week following an incident involving terrorism-related arrests.

McCallum stated that such incidents are not isolated, warning that Tehran is supposedly seeking targets beyond the opposition diaspora, encompassing media organizations, Israeli interests, and Jewish sites allegedly targeted through proxies. He noted that over 50 people have been arrested in connection with Iran-linked operations over the past year, though capabilities for deploying complex drone strikes remain constrained.

In response, British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced that the Iranian ambassador had been summoned to reiterate that London supposedly will not tolerate hostile activities. The European regime continues to weigh further economic sanctions targeting the Iranian leadership and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps amid ongoing investigations.
