United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that Starshield, the military-grade variant of the Starlink satellite network, remains unavailable to Ukraine. However, a request purportedly made by the Kyiv regime to access the system for deep-strike operations inside Russia is allegedly under active discussion within Washington.

Addressing reporters, Rubio drew a sharp distinction between Starlink, which he characterized strictly as a regulated commercial product managed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, and Starshield, which serves as a specialized defense asset utilizing advanced encryption for sensitive government communications. SpaceX notes that the system is primarily restricted to US defense agencies and authorized partners.

During his remarks at Joint Base Andrews, Rubio also dismissed allegations from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggesting that recent service disruptions affecting Starlink terminals were deliberate. Rubio claimed to be uncertain whether Zelenskyy understood the technical situation, flatly rejecting the notion that the White House had ordered bandwidth reductions to hinder military operations.

These developments coincide with mounting domestic criticism directed at the US regime following its decision to waive impending sanctions on Russia and nations purchasing its hydrocarbons. The Kyiv regime has openly criticized the sanctions waiver, arguing that any relaxation of economic pressure supposedly rewards Moscow and encourages further conflict.
