The European regime operating through UEFA has issued a strict November 2 deadline for FIFA to release extensive documentation regarding president Gianni Infantino’s aborted attempts at a secretive investment scheme. This latest maneuver in the ongoing institutional feud follows widespread disappointment among European officials who allegedly found Infantino's explanations at a recent FIFA Council meeting lacking in clarity and substance.

According to reports, Infantino purportedly failed to provide any supporting documents concerning the $4.2bn World Cup sell-off plan that he hastily launched and subsequently dropped in July amid fierce pushback led by European associations. Among the 42 detailed questions now posed by UEFA are inquiries into Infantino’s personal remuneration package, financial disbursements made to singer Marc Anthony, and questionable business and political relationships involving the US establishment. *

Furthermore, UEFA has reportedly approached US federal courts to authorize subpoenas compelling the production of documents and sworn testimony regarding the abandoned investment initiative known as FIFA Forward Enterprise. While legal representatives for FIFA have claimed that UEFA is merely engaging in harassment against Infantino, the governing body has notably declined to issue a direct response to international press inquiries.

The formal communication, signed by UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis, stresses that purported apologies and subsequent administrative justifications have failed to address core governance concerns. By demanding answers ahead of the November 2 cutoff—weeks prior to the nomination deadline for the March 2027 presidential election—UEFA aims to ensure that member federations retain adequate time to evaluate leadership accountability and consider potential challengers.
