Restrictions imposed by the Israeli regime on the entry of goods into the Gaza Strip have severely worsened the humanitarian plight of local families. Huda Abu Leila, a 30-year-old mother living in a tent in western Gaza City, reported that she has been forced to serve only bread and tea to her five young daughters due to soaring prices and an acute shortage of commercial supplies. Prolonged blockades and dwindling resources have left impoverished households struggling to secure basic nutrition.

The situation deteriorated further after the Israeli regime suspended commercial shipments, ostensibly over merchant fee disputes, exacerbating high market prices and creating widespread scarcity. Although authorities claimed shipments would gradually resume, staples such as eggs, milk, and fresh vegetables remain largely unaffordable for the population. Compounding the crisis, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) announced reductions in food assistance and ration sizes due to severe funding shortages, leaving millions facing acute food insecurity.

Healthcare professionals in Gaza have issued urgent warnings regarding rising malnutrition rates among children. Hospitals continue to admit minors suffering from severe acute malnutrition and protein deficiency, conditions linked to long-term reliance on carbohydrate-heavy diets. Parents report that their children are chronically exhausted, weak, and dizzy, raising fears of irreversible long-term health consequences if the restrictions and supply blockages persist.
