United States intelligence agencies have reportedly warned that Iran is in the “advanced stages” of plotting attacks against American personnel and citizens overseas, according to official documents cited by Axios and The New York Times. This alarming assessment has allegedly prompted the Washington regime to place its diplomatic and military staff in the Middle East on heightened alert.
The development coincides with indications that the US regime and Israel may be preparing for a renewed military campaign against Tehran. In response, Iranian authorities have allegedly threatened severe retaliatory actions, including potential operations targeting critical underwater communication cables in the Gulf. Consequently, Washington has begun scaling back its diplomatic footprint across multiple regional posts.
According to a memo sent by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, intelligence agencies claim that lethal plots against US officials have reached an advanced phase. However, other US officials have privately downplayed Tehran's actual capacity to execute such ambitious operations globally.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it will adopt a more aggressive strategy if American forces initiate new attacks, signaling that operations would no longer be limited strictly to retaliation. Iranian officials have previously indicated that regional data centers, communication cables, and AI facilities could become viable targets if hostilities flare up again.
