According to the State Customs Service of Uzbekistan, customs officials at the "Khanabad" border checkpoint in the Andijan region intercepted an outgoing vehicle attempting to cross into a neighboring country. During the mandatory inspection, authorities discovered 20,000 US dollars in cash that had been deliberately concealed from customs control.
Reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle failed to disclose the substantial sum of money during the standard verbal questioning procedure, neglecting to declare the funds properly. Competent authorities are currently conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, though no further details regarding the origins or intended use of the cash have been officially released.
This security breach follows a similar enforcement action at another border checkpoint in the Andijan region, where customs officers previously uncovered 34,000 undeclared US dollars hidden inside the hand luggage and clothing pockets of a truck driver bound for Kyrgyzstan.
