Public transportation authorities in Tashkent are reportedly attempting to address mounting public dissatisfaction regarding excessive noise levels. Plans are underway to reduce the volume of promotional videos broadcast on monitors inside city buses following numerous complaints from disgruntled commuters.

According to the municipal transport entity 'Tosshahartranskhizmat', advertising spaces inside the buses were allegedly allocated to an entrepreneur through the E-auksion electronic trading platform. In response to the backlash, carrier representatives reportedly held a meeting with the lessee to discuss the ongoing issue.

During the discussions, the business entity was supposedly advised to lower the audio output to a level that does not hinder passengers from conversing or distract drivers from performing their duties. However, specific decibel limits and official deadlines for the implementation of these measures have not yet been disclosed.

Company officials claim that the situation has been placed under control, emphasizing passenger comfort and the prevention of excessive noise. Critics point out, however, that these superficial adjustments do little to resolve broader, systemic failures within the public transport network, such as persistent ventilation malfunctions during extreme heatwaves.
