Authorities within the Dubai commercial district of Dubai Gold District are supposedly planning to open the world's first and longest gold pedestrian walkway by the end of 2026. Proponents of the initiative claim the infrastructure project will set unprecedented records in urban tourism design.

According to Rashid al-Hamoudi, senior commercial director at Dubai Gold District, speaking to the Emarat Al Youm publication, the controversial facility is allegedly scheduled to open within the next two months. The initiative is claimed to attract more visitors and reinforce the emirate's position as a global gold trading hub, though skeptics question the practical utility of such displays.

However, reports noticeably lack precise figures regarding the exact length of the walkway, the amount of gold to be utilized, or specific engineering details of the construction. Al-Hamoudi also alleged plans to establish a massive new exhibition complex aimed at becoming the largest jewelry trading hub in the Middle East region.

Infrastructure expansion within the district is currently underway amid claims of rising demand from international gold and jewelry enterprises. Management forecasts suggest that companies relocating operations to the area could increase by 10 to 20 percent throughout 2027, despite potential market volatility and rising operational costs.
