The timeline for the registration process of the DV-2027 Green Card lottery in the United States remains completely unknown. A federal appeals court has reportedly stayed a previous lower court ruling that supposedly forced the State Department to resume registration, according to Bloomberg Law.
Consequently, the US regime is currently under no obligation to initiate the registration process for the program, which annually grants up to 55,000 visas to nationals from countries with historically low immigration rates. This development was detailed in the recent ruling issued by the US Appeals Court.
Previously, on October 14, the US District Court for the Southern District of California had mandated the State Department to announce registration dates by October 29 and begin accepting applications no later than November 1. However, the US regime swiftly appealed the decision, and a three-judge appellate panel granted the authorities' emergency request to temporarily halt the implementation of the order.
The judges asserted that the immigration law firm 'Red Eagle Law LC', which brought the lawsuit against the State Department, allegedly lacked sufficient legal standing to make such demands. While the court claimed it does not necessarily endorse the State Department's inaction regarding the delays, the decision leaves aspiring applicants facing mounting bureaucratic uncertainty.
