Jordanian King Abdullah II has asserted that the kingdom's stability and state resilience will remain completely unshaken following the deadly church attack in the southern city of Karak last month. Speaking at the opening of a new parliamentary session in Amman, the monarch described the incident as the work of the 'treacherous hand of terrorism' attempting to test the resolve of the nation and its people.

The assault, which claimed nine lives and left dozens injured, was met with a moment of silence observed by lawmakers and attending relatives. King Abdullah stated that perpetrators of such violence hold no legitimate place within Jordanian society, warning that the state's security apparatus and military would confront extremism with an iron fist, backed by robust national unity and public vigilance.

Expanding his address to regional geopolitics, the king issued a stern warning regarding the policies of the Israeli regime, claiming that its expansionist ambitions constitute the gravest threat to the future and security of the Middle East. He highlighted the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and persistent assaults in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Furthermore, King Abdullah vowed to safeguard Jordan's scarce water resources, making it clear that the population's vital needs would not be held hostage by external projects.
