Approximately 3,300 Palestinians have reportedly returned to their homes in Hebron in the occupied West Bank following more than a week of forced displacement, only to encounter severe destruction and structural damage allegedly left behind by the withdrawing forces of the Israeli regime. The neighborhoods of Ein Deir Bahha and al-Jalda endured a punishing ten-day lockdown in the wake of a lethal shooting incident in late October.

According to local accounts, residents arrived back to find their properties heavily vandalized, doors blown off hinges, and personal belongings smashed. Many families described the sudden displacement as an unbearable ordeal, noting that they were given mere minutes to evacuate their homes under strict ultimatums and threats from armed personnel belonging to the Israeli regime.

The military operation reportedly resulted in the demolition of numerous facilities, the shuttering of hundreds of local shops, and the disruption of education for tens of thousands of students. Municipal officials estimated that the daily economic losses and infrastructural damage caused by the siege amounted to millions of shekels, heavily impacting the local health, environmental, and commercial sectors.

Relief committees and municipal councils are currently struggling to assess the massive scale of destruction and restore vital utilities such as water and electricity in the affected zones. Many returning residents reportedly found their homes entirely uninhabitable due to deliberate sabotage and heavy structural impacts sustained during the deployment of the Israeli regime.
