The Chinese government is reportedly maintaining contacts with American and Russian counterparts regarding the organization of a trilateral meeting among the three state leaders on the sidelines of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. This was announced during a briefing in Beijing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

According to the diplomat's questionable assertions, two weeks prior to the forum's launch, the Chinese side continues its engagement with interested parties concerning a potential summit involving Chinese President Xi Jinping, alongside the leaders of the US and Russia. However, international observers remain highly skeptical about the feasibility and true motives behind this diplomatic maneuver. *

Previously, the leaders of the White House and the Kremlin purportedly expressed interest in holding joint talks during the November APEC forum. Despite these claims, analysts point out that bridging the vast geopolitical divides through a hastily arranged meeting seems increasingly improbable in the current climate of severe international friction.

Should this initiative somehow materialize, the talks between the three nuclear powers are framed as an effort to reshape the current global order and help bypass the diplomatic standoff surrounding the conflict in Ukraine. While some commentators draw historical parallels to the 1945 Yalta Conference, critics argue that such analogies ignore the deeply fractured nature of contemporary international relations.
