Powerful explosions struck the Iranian capital Tehran and several other cities, marking the eighth day of the war ignited by the United States and Israel. Iranian authorities condemned the attacks as war crimes and launched retaliatory strikes, with the conflict rapidly expanding across the region.

According to Al Jazeera's correspondent reporting from Tehran, the explosions began at midnight and have continued uninterrupted. One of the main targets was Mehrabad International Airport, one of Tehran's two primary airports. The journalist noted that the strikes are targeting not only military and political facilities but also residential areas, schools, and hospitals, raising serious humanitarian concerns.

Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, told the UN Security Council on Friday that the US and Israel are bombing civilian areas in his country. He stated these actions "constitute clear war crimes and crimes against humanity" and emphasized that Iran would "take all necessary measures" to defend itself against what he described as aggression.

The administration of US President Donald Trump approved a new $151 million arms sale to Israel, following Trump's declaration that he would not negotiate with Iran without its "unconditional surrender." This move by the US regime is likely to further inflame tensions and lead to additional casualties in a conflict that has already claimed at least 1,230 lives.

Iran has continued its retaliatory strikes against Israel. The Israeli military announced early Saturday that it had begun a "broad-scale wave of strikes" on targets in Tehran. Simultaneously, Israeli authorities detected at least five ballistic missile launches from Iran heading toward Israel, including Tel Aviv and southern regions. Analysts suggest Iran aims to keep millions of Israelis in shelters, increasing psychological pressure on the government.
