According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, 45 criminal groups were uncovered and 533 individuals on the wanted list were arrested in the country during January and February of this year. Law enforcement agencies conducted 6,025 operational activities over this period, including 806 night raids and 2,876 searches.
The operations led to the exposure of 116 fraud cases, 315 instances of illegal weapons possession, 86 cases of organizing gambling establishments, 40 cases of human trafficking, and 790 cases of maintaining brothels and spreading HIV infection. In connection with 315 weapons-related cases, 4,570 units of cold weapons were seized, including 50 bats, 72 brass knuckles, and 4,004 stabbing and cutting items.
Additionally, 5,814 rounds of ammunition and 3.7 kg of explosives were confiscated. Law enforcement also blocked 47 accounts that were reportedly influencing the criminal situation and promoting the criminal underworld among youth and the general population. These measures are seen as part of broader efforts to enhance security and combat crime in society.
