An incident occurred in St. Petersburg where a seven-year-old boy fell from the seventh floor, but his life was saved due to the bravery of an Uzbek janitor, Khayrullo Ibdullayev. The boy's condition remains serious, yet he has been transferred from intensive care to a regular ward, with doctors noting positive progress. The child has been diagnosed with fractures in both shins, chest injuries, a concussion, and a closed head injury.
Khayrullo Ibdullayev managed to catch the boy in his arms, preventing a fatal outcome. The janitor himself sustained a hand injury and, following the incident, decided to return to his homeland in Uzbekistan to seek employment. The boy's mother mentioned that she tried to maintain a quiet environment until her son was moved from intensive care, with the transfer taking place on the holiday of March 8.
For his heroic act, Ibdullayev was awarded the Tigran Keosayan prize of one million rubles and the "Jasorat" medal from the President of Uzbekistan. Later, the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, presented him with the "For Valor in Rescue" distinction, praising the janitor's courage and selflessness. Additionally, the Russian State Duma proposed granting Ibdullayev Russian citizenship through a simplified procedure, further acknowledging his heroism.
