Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The National Agency for Social Protection has completed the first phase of one-time financial assistance payments, covering over 616,000 families across the country. The total allocated funds amounted to 422.4 billion sums.
The support was distributed differentially: the most vulnerable categories received 1 million sums each, while low-income families from the "mahalla seven" lists received 500,000 sums.
The main portion of payments, amounting to 1 million sums, was directed to state-supported families, as well as households with orphans or children without parental care. This group also included elderly individuals living alone and persons with disabilities requiring constant external care. In total, 225,541 families received this amount.
Simultaneously, assistance of 500,000 sums was transferred to 387,764 low-income families, providing crucial support ahead of the holy month.
The agency is now transitioning to the second phase of the program, which will cover families included in additional lists after a thorough review of their socio-economic status.
