Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. Nearly five thousand people were found guilty of theft through misappropriation or embezzlement in 2025. They received various penalties, ranging from imprisonment to fines, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

According to the Supreme Court press service, last year, 4,985 individuals were convicted under Article 167 of the Criminal Code. They were sentenced to fines, corrective and compulsory community service, restriction or deprivation of liberty. An additional 69 people received conditional sentences.

The highest number of cases in this category were reviewed in Tashkent, as well as in Samarkand, Andijan, Namangan, and Kashkadarya regions.

Previously, it was reported that by the end of 2025, 59 judges in Uzbekistan's judicial system lost their positions. Three of them were convicted for corruption crimes.
