A 9-year-old boy died in a road traffic accident in Andijan Region. The crash occurred on February 24 at 15:56 in Baliqchi District.

According to official information, the driver of a ZIL-130 cargo truck, manufactured in 2002, hit a minor born in 2017 at a regulated intersection.

After the collision, the driver lost control, and the vehicle crashed into a Cobalt car that had stopped at the intersection.

The child sustained severe injuries and, despite receiving medical assistance, died in the hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan ("Violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules").

A video of the incident has spread on social media.
