Uzbekistan's President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a military unit during his trip to Surkhandarya region, where he inspected the facilities, military equipment, and weapons, including modern air defense systems.

He emphasized the need to consider the characteristics of modern armed conflicts, existing security threats, and the specifics of the theater of military operations when setting priorities for national army development. The president issued instructions to responsible officials to enhance the Armed Forces' capabilities, strengthen the material-technical base, and improve personnel training levels.

Previously, the president had tasked the creation of new units for drone control and countermeasures, cyber structures for artificial intelligence operations, and the use of robotic technology and air defense assets.
