️ The Russian government is planning to introduce a ban on gasoline exports for producers starting April 1, 2026, as announced following a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy to prepare the corresponding draft resolution, with the measure aimed at stabilizing prices on the domestic market and ensuring priority fuel supply within the country.
️ Currently, Russia has restrictions on gasoline exports only for non-producers, while the ban for major oil companies was lifted in January. According to Novak, representatives of the oil industry confirmed the availability of sufficient gasoline and diesel fuel reserves, as well as high utilization rates at oil refineries, which allows meeting domestic demand.
️ Previously, Russian authorities extended until March a ban on gasoline exports for all market participants, as well as an embargo on diesel fuel exports for non-producers, including traders, oil depots, and companies with production capacity of less than one million tons of fuel per year. These measures are being implemented to prevent price increases in the domestic market and ensure energy security.
