A strong earthquake that occurred in Tajikistan on April 3rd was felt in several regions of Uzbekistan. According to the FVV Seismoprognostic Monitoring Center, the tremors were recorded at 15:26, with the epicenter located 296 km southeast of Tashkent. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5 and a depth of 10 km.

The monitoring center reported that the earthquake was felt in the Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent regions of Uzbekistan. In these areas, residents evacuated their homes to open spaces, but preliminary information indicates no reports of serious damage or casualties. Authorities have emphasized that cracks may appear in buildings as a result of the tremors.

Given Uzbekistan's location in a seismically active zone, such events are regularly observed. Experts note that considering the earthquake's strength and depth, it could have been felt in more distant areas as well. The public is advised to remain calm and follow updates from official sources.
