A blogger from Uzbekistan, Jasurbek Shodiyev, known online as Jasjan, has been detained in Moscow for posting provocative videos filmed in the Moscow metro.

Russian Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk stated that police identified the videos during an internet monitoring operation. The footage showed the young man behaving provocatively toward subway passengers and instigating conflicts.

The author of the videos was quickly identified and detained at one of Moscow's international airports while attempting to leave Russia.

A citizen of a Central Asian country has been charged with petty hooliganism under Article 20.1 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses. Law enforcement is continuing the investigation, after which a procedural decision will be made.

Earlier, blogger Otbek Khamidov was detained in Uzbekistan.
