President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov on the sidelines of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, according to the presidential press service.

At the outset of the meeting, Bektenov conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Uzbek leader.

The sides discussed topical issues of further deepening bilateral strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Intensive contacts at all levels were noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover is growing, and cooperation projects in priority economic sectors continue under a newly adopted “road map.”

The importance of thorough preparation for the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting and the first Council of Heads of Regions in Aktau in July was emphasized.
