An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale struck Kyrgyzstan late on July 7, according to the Republican Center for Seismoprognotic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The epicenter of the tremor was located in the Jalal-Abad region, at a depth of 5 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt in Uzbekistan's Andijan and Namangan regions with an intensity of 2−3 points. Specifically, it was recorded in the Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Kurghantepa, Jalaquduq, Khanabad, and Andijan districts of Andijan region, as well as in the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region.
This follows a previous significant earthquake on June 27 in Afghanistan, which had a magnitude of 6.8. That tremor was felt across almost all of Uzbekistan, with Tashkent experiencing 2−3 point tremors lasting about one minute.
