Kazakhstan has introduced a restriction on the frequency of border crossings for passenger and cargo vehicles from neighboring countries. This was announced at a government briefing by Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Energy, Kayyrkhan Tutkyshbaev.

According to him, a current order prohibits crossing the state border for refueling purposes more than once. "Today, there is an order that prohibits entering the territory of our country more than once. This applies to all our border zones," said Kayyrkhan Tutkyshbaev.

The measure is aimed at combating illegal fuel exports and maintaining the balance of domestic petroleum product consumption. Special attention is paid to vehicles with additional fuel tanks, which are used for the illegal export of fuels and lubricants.

According to the Kazakh government, since the beginning of the year, 593 attempts to export petroleum products with a total volume of over 40,000 liters have been prevented at vehicle checkpoints. In the last two days, border guards have prevented another 61 attempts to export more than 3 tons of fuels and lubricants in additional fuel tanks and canisters.

The government also noted that Kazakhstan's oil refineries are operating normally, and existing reserves of gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel are sufficient to meet domestic demand. According to Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov, the situation with the production and supply of fuels and lubricants is under constant government control.
