The Afghan national team has withdrawn from the kokpar tournament at the 6th World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan. The decision came after a 1:4 loss to Uzbekistan in their opening match, but the team cited problems with horses as the reason for their exit.

According to Gulam Sarwar Jalala, head of Afghanistan's Buzkashi Federation, the team was ready to play their next match against Mongolia, but organizers could not provide suitable horses for the riders. The Afghans refused to play, were handed a technical 0:3 defeat, and subsequently left the tournament.

The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6. The program features dozens of traditional sports, with kokpar competitions taking place in Cholpon-Ata.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the Nomad Games in Bishkek.
