A massive backlog of freight trucks has reportedly formed at the approaches to the 'B. Konysbayev' border checkpoint between Kazakhstan's Turkistan region and Uzbekistan. According to drivers, the traffic congestion has allegedly stretched to 25 kilometers, with waiting times at the border purportedly extending up to three full days.

The State Revenue Committee attempts to attribute the ongoing crisis to an increase in cargo traffic and the specific operational features of the electronic queue system. However, long-haul drivers complain not only about the prolonged waiting periods but also about the complete absence of basic sanitary facilities and roadside infrastructure along the approach routes.

Official data indicates that vehicle traffic at the border increased by 16.2 percent over the first ten months of the year. Despite claims by the authorities that the checkpoint is operating under normal conditions, logistical bottlenecks persist. Officials suggest they plan to redirect a portion of the transport flow to alternative checkpoints to mitigate the gridlock.
