Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. Paul Thomas Anderson's film "Battle by Battle" emerged as the absolute winner at the 98th Academy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on the night of March 15-16. The film was recognized as the Best Picture of the Year, with Anderson himself receiving Oscars for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Additionally, the project won awards for Best Film Editing and Best Casting, while Sean Penn was named Best Supporting Actor for his role.
The drama "Sinners" achieved significant success, winning in four categories: Michael B. Jordan received the award for Best Actor, Ryan Coogler for Best Original Screenplay, Autumn Durald Arkapaw for Best Cinematography, and Ludwig Göransson for Best Original Score. In the female acting categories, Jessie Buckley won for Best Actress in the film "Gamnet," and Amy Madigan for Best Supporting Actress in the film "Weapons."
Technical awards were distributed among several major projects: "Frankenstein" won three Oscars for Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The Best Animated Feature award went to "K-pop Demon Hunters," which was also recognized for Best Original Song. In the categories of Best Visual Effects and Best Sound, "Avatar: Fire and Ash" and "Formula 1" led, respectively.
In the international and documentary sections, the winners were the Norwegian film "Sentimental Value," the documentary "Mr. Nobody vs. Putin," and the short film "All the Empty Rooms." The gala evening, organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was once again hosted by Conan O'Brien. The ceremony's program included a reunion of the cast of "Bachelorette in Vegas," appearances by Marvel stars, and the traditional In Memoriam tribute section honoring departed film industry figures.
