A shocking incident in the Fergana region has resulted in a 38-year-old man being sentenced to 3 years in prison for biting off part of a market inspector's ear. According to the verdict of the Furkat District Court dated March 13, 2026, Kh.I. was found guilty under clauses "b, e" of Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Infliction of Grave Bodily Harm). During the trial, the defendant partially admitted guilt, claiming the conflict arose because the inspector was moving a cart where his mother sold samsa.

The incident occurred on October 14, 2025, at a market in the "Urganjibog" neighborhood of Kokanda city. When two female vendors quarreled over a spot, market inspector K.O. arrived to intervene. At that moment, Kh.I. engaged in a conflict with the inspector, first striking him with his hands and then biting his right ear, severing a portion of it. A forensic medical examination concluded that the resulting scar on the ear would not fully fade over time and would require plastic surgery after maturation.

The victim stated in court that he had already spent about 14 million soums on treatment and needed an additional 70 million soums for plastic surgery, requesting compensation for material damage. The court ordered the convict to pay 13 million 752 thousand soums to the victim. Kh.I. was taken into custody in the courtroom and will serve his sentence in a general regime colony. This case highlights ongoing issues with violence and public order maintenance in market settings.
