The administration of the Tashkent Botanical Garden has announced a ban on the use of bicycles and scooters within the garden's territory, effective from April 1. This decision was made in response to an increasing number of falls and injuries among visitors, as well as based on numerous complaints from patrons who reported unsafe conditions during their visits.

Representatives from the garden's administration stated: "The safety of our guests and their loved ones is our top priority. We are implementing this ban to create a calm and comfortable atmosphere for walking and observing nature." They also highlighted that a similar measure is already in place at the capital's Ecopark, where bicycle use has been restricted since 2018, serving as a precedent for the new rule.

The new prohibition will apply to all pathways and areas of the garden, requiring bicycle and scooter owners to leave their vehicles in designated spots before entry. The administration emphasized that this measure aims to preserve the garden's natural environment, reduce noise levels, and enhance safety for all visitors, including children and the elderly.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions among visitors. Some have welcomed the ban, viewing it as necessary to improve safety, particularly for families with young children. Others have expressed dissatisfaction, arguing that bicycles and scooters allowed for quicker and more convenient exploration of the garden's extensive grounds. The administration has not indicated any plans to review this policy in the future, confirming that other forms of personal transport will also not be permitted for the time being.
