A video circulating on social media from Tashkent shows a young man bringing a cat in a bag to a bridge and deliberately throwing it into the river. The animal managed to swim out, but the act itself has sparked a wave of public outrage: the man consciously discarded the animal and coldly filmed the incident.

The cruel incident was reported by the specialized channel Animal life in Uzbekistan. The clip was published on the author's Instagram account but was deleted after user reactions. However, the deletion does not remove responsibility or change the nature of the act—it is merely an attempt to hide the consequences.

Particular attention was drawn to a Quranic quote posted on the page: "Man will have only what he strives for" (Surah 53:39). Against the backdrop of these words, the demonstrative cruelty towards a defenseless animal appears especially cynical.

Users continue to discuss the incident and possible accountability for such actions. It is emphasized that such acts are not "content" but a signal that cannot be ignored. Cruelty to animals requires a response and condemnation to prevent such cases from becoming normalized.

It is recalled that deputies of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan are developing a draft law that provides for a significant tightening of responsibility for cruel treatment of animals.
