Law enforcement officers in the Bukhara region have detained an entrepreneur who attempted to sell a land plot belonging to his company for $700,000. The man was caught red-handed while receiving an advance payment of $58,000, reports Podrobno.uz correspondent.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the land plot covers 3.8 hectares and is classified as non-residential property. The suspect allegedly promised the buyer to arrange a construction permit for a cottage for an additional $8,000, planning to use his connections in the Main Construction Department of the Bukhara region.

The operational measure was prompted by a complaint from the "buyer" to the department for combating land resource theft.

Earlier, in the Samarkand region, a 46-year-old man was detained for promising to sell 5.1 hectares of irrigated land belonging to a farm. The suspect was caught while receiving part of the agreed amount—$30,000.
