Uzbekistan's Hydrometeorological Service (Uzgidromet) has issued a warning about potential mudslides and floods in the foothill and mountainous regions of the country from April 28 to May 4, due to expected rainfall.
According to meteorologists, heavy precipitation could cause a sharp rise in water levels in rivers and streams, as well as trigger mudflows, particularly in high-altitude areas.
The Republican Center for Hydrometeorology urged residents, vacationers, and drivers to take enhanced precautionary measures. Vehicles traveling through mountainous roads should exercise extra caution on hazardous sections.
In addition, some areas may experience accumulation of rainwater, leading to local flooding, especially in low-lying settlements.
Uzgidromet recommends continuous monitoring of the situation and adherence to official warnings. In case of emergencies, the public is advised to call 112.
