The Tourism Committee has officially granted the prestigious status of 'tourist mahalla' to the Bogizogon mahalla in the Toyloq district of the Samarkand region. The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Committee S. Bobokalonov, local administration officials, and residents of the area.
The new status is part of a large-scale strategy to enhance the attractiveness of Uzbekistan's regions and create additional income sources for the rural population. Bogizogon mahalla was chosen for its unique landscape and cultural heritage, which allow for the development of high-level ecological and ethnographic tourism.
Under the project, more than 20 guest houses are planned to be opened in the mahalla. This approach will give tourists the opportunity not only to see the sights but also to fully immerse themselves in the national lifestyle, learn about hospitality traditions and the culture of the oasis. This will not only expand recreational opportunities but also provide a strong impetus for the development of small businesses and handicrafts in the district.
