President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has visited the site of the new 'Karkidon' tourism complex under construction near the Karkidon reservoir in Quva district, reviewing ongoing projects. The president's press service reported on the visit.

The complex is expected to become one of the most attractive destinations in the Fergana Valley for summer recreation, ecotourism, and active leisure. The project is being implemented in accordance with a presidential decree dated April 1, 2025.

Spanning 508 hectares, the complex combines agro-tourism, ecotourism, and extreme tourism opportunities. It includes 45 chalets, 57 modern guest houses, an agro-tourism complex, a flower garden, a lavender field, an eco-market, quiet zones, and restaurants.

During the inspection, the president emphasized the importance of such projects for improving the well-being of the population, the regional economy, and the country's tourism potential. Tourism was highlighted as an effective way to promote the country globally, create new jobs, and expand service exports.

The project is expected to establish over 100 business entities and create nearly 2,000 new jobs. Plans include hosting 750,000 tourists annually, generating 3 billion soums in budget revenues, and achieving $5 million in service exports. The complex is set to become fully operational in 2027.

Future plans include motocross tracks, a 2-kilometer cable car, karting, and golf courses. These facilities are expected to make 'Karkidon' a flagship destination for active tourism.

During the visit, the president also inspected new hotels and shopping complexes. A presentation of prospective tourism projects was held on-site.
