The National Olympic Committee press service reported that athletes from the Uzbekistan national shooting team won three medals at the Youth World Cup held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

The international competition took place from April 19 to 27. It was attended by 12 representatives from Uzbekistan – two coaches and 10 athletes. The delegation was formed by the Ministry of Defense and the Uzbekistan Shooting Federation.

On the first day of the competition, Sadikjan Abdullayev, a member of the Uzbekistan national team and an athlete of the Ministry of Defense Sports Center, won a silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol event. This was the team's first medal.

In subsequent events, Javokhir Sokhibov won a gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle competition. Additionally, Nikita Sokolov earned a bronze medal in the 50-meter rifle three positions event.

The team members were ceremonially welcomed at the Islam Karimov International Airport. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Uzbekistan Shooting Federation congratulated the athletes. This achievement is regarded as an important step in the development of shooting sports in Uzbekistan.
