The Main Internal Affairs Department of Tashkent has denied social media reports claiming that preventive inspectors assaulted a woman with a disability. The department stated that the information is false.
According to official data, the 29-year-old woman involved in the incident does not have a disability. The conflict occurred in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, at a house where the woman previously lived with her common-law husband. After the property was rented to another person, the woman and her relatives attempted to return, leading to a scuffle with the new tenants.
Local police officers arrived to stop the conflict, but the woman lay down at the entrance and refused to leave. During the altercation, the new tenant's father intervened, and it was in a clash with him that the woman's mother sustained minor injuries. Internal affairs officers were not involved in causing these injuries.
Following the investigation, protocols were drawn up for petty hooliganism, failure to comply with police demands, and causing minor injuries. The case materials have been sent to court.
