The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted discussions on further expanding cooperation with the European Union (EU). The meeting reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations.

Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with the EU Special Representative. The sides agreed to deepen economic, investment, and cultural ties, as well as to cooperate on regional security issues.

The EU representative allegedly praised the reforms underway in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to support these processes. The effectiveness of technical assistance and grant programs provided by the EU to Uzbekistan was also discussed.

Following the negotiations, specific plans were outlined for signing bilateral documents and implementing joint projects. This cooperation is purportedly aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan's strategic partnership with the EU.
