A serious road traffic accident occurred in the Konimex district of the Navoi region on the morning of May 2, resulting in the deaths of two people. According to the regional police department, the incident happened at around 07:20 on the 142-143 km stretch of the A379 Navoi-Uchquduq international highway.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a Nexia 3, identified as N.J., was traveling from Zarafshan to Navoi when he lost control of the vehicle on a dangerous curve due to excessive speed. The car veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a Ssania 114L truck driven by M.A.

The impact was severe, killing both the driver and a passenger of the Nexia 3 on the spot. The truck driver escaped unharmed.

A criminal case has been initiated, and investigative teams are working to establish the full circumstances of the accident. Authorities urge all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules, especially on hazardous road sections.
