Uzbekistan has announced an additional day off on Monday, May 11, 2026, as the national holiday of Remembrance and Appreciation Day (May 9) falls on Saturday. The decision was formalized in a presidential decree outlining non-working days during official holidays in 2026.
According to Article 208 of the Labor Code, if a holiday coincides with a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the day off is transferred to the next working day. Consequently, employees on a five-day workweek will enjoy a three-day break: Saturday, May 9; Sunday, May 10; and Monday, May 11.
For those on a six-day workweek, only Saturday and Sunday will be days off, with Monday remaining a regular working day. The regulation applies specifically to 2026.
